Lets hospitals use beds in hallways during emergencies
Allows hospitals in South Carolina to put patient beds in hallways, corridors, and exits during certain emergencies, such as disasters, disease outbreaks, or when emergency rooms have no open space. Hospitals must first use all other treatment space, record the emergency on a state form within seven days, and send copies to the Department of Public Health each quarter. Hospitals must keep walkways and exits clear, not block fire sprinklers or alarms, and train staff on emergency rules.
